The Energy Transition Fund (TEM) is a dedicated fund through which, among other things, government support measures for electricity are financed. When a relevant subsidy scheme is in effect, the support may appear on your electricity bill as a credit or discount, under the description “Energy Transition Fund Credit.”
Who Is Eligible for the Subsidy?
Eligibility requirements and conditions are not always the same. They are determined by the government decision in force at the time and may depend on factors such as:
- The type of consumer, such as residential or business.
- The type of electricity tariff.
- The consumption period covered by the support measure.
- Consumption limits and any income-related or other eligibility criteria.
Therefore, the subsidy does not automatically apply to all consumers, nor is it guaranteed to be available every month in 2026. Each scheme has specific terms and a defined duration.
How Does the Subsidy Appear on Your Electricity Bill?
When a subsidy applies to your electricity supply, your electricity provider credits the relevant support to your bill in accordance with the terms of the scheme.
The credit may appear on an estimated or final bill, provided this is allowed under the specific measure and the bill covers an eligible consumption period.
To find out whether you qualify for any support, check the relevant announcements from the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the information provided by your electricity supplier.
A helpful tip from GlobyPlus: Do not choose an electricity plan assuming that a government subsidy will automatically apply. Compare the electricity supply rate, fixed charges, discounts, and contract terms to assess the actual cost of the plan based on your needs.
